Energy-efficient glass options

Double-pane windows

Infinity's standard double-pane glass consists of two layers of glass with an insulating air space between them, providing enhanced thermal efficiency. Double-pane glass is exclusively available with the Traditional window profile.

Triple-pane windows

Triple-pane glass is exclusively available with the TriVue™ window profile and features three layers of glass separated by insulating air spaces, compared to the two layers found in standard double-pane windows. Triple-pane windows are the most energy-efficient window option.

Decorative glass

Ideal for the space that calls for natural sunlight indoors, decorative glass allows you to create the perfect combination of style and privacy in your new Infinity replacement windows and doors. Make a beautiful statement by choosing one of Infinity's decorative glass options.1

Specialty glass

Tempered
Increases glass strength to help prevent breakage. This option is ideal for windows and doors that are close to the floor or located in high-traffic areas.

Laminated
Even more durable than tempered glass, laminated glass is often referred to as impact resistant or safety glass due to its vinyl interlayer that tends to remain in place when cracked.

STC/OITC
Sound Transmission Class and Outdoor-Indoor Transmission Class Glass has increased pane thickness, ideal in areas where exterior noise is a concern.

California Fire Glass
A dual pane option where one pane is made of regular or annealed glass and the other pane is made from tempered glass, meeting California fire zone code. Infinity windows are not fire-rated.2

1. Obscure glass is the only decorative glass option available with TriVue™ window profile.

2. California fire glass is not available with the TriVue window profile.

Low-E glass glazing options

Low E1

An option for colder climates — especially those at elevations with direct sun exposure. A single layer of coating allows UV rays to warm your home while blocking heat loss.

Low E2

Low E2 features two layers of coating that reflect heat back to the source. This glass performs year-round in moderate climates, retaining heat in the winter and keeping it out in summer.

Low E3

With three layers of coating, Low E3 keeps solar heat at bay while letting visible sunlight into your home. A popular option for climates with intense sun exposure.

Low ERS

Available in conjunction with Low E2 or Low E3, this additional layer of coating is added to the room side of the glass. Low ERS reflects heat back into the room for maximum year-round energy efficiency.

Simulated Divided Lites

Our Simulated Divided Lite (SDLs) bars are built with Ultrex® fiberglass and permanently adhered in our factory to the outside surfaces of the glass. SDLs have a spacer bar between the panes of glass to offer the traditional look of divided lites.1

Grilles Between the Glass

Grille bars are located between the panes of insulating glass. Grilles Between the Glass (GBGs) combine easy cleaning with the timeless detail of a grille pattern.

Patterns

We offer various divided lite patterns so you can replicate the look of your original windows and doors — or add new architectural interest to your home. Ask your local Infinity partner about additional patterns and style options. Infinity Awning windows are available with a Simulated Checkrail. The Simulated Checkrail option gives the look of a double hung on an awning window.2

1. With the TriVue™ window profile, SDLs are only available for special shape and round top windows.

2. The Simulated Checkrail option is not available with the TriView™ window profile.

Frequently Asked Questions

An awning window has a hinge at the top to allow it to open outward. It provides easy ventilation and opens with a crank handle. You can open awning windows in light rains because they direct water away from entering your home. They also work great as a complementary window when paired with picture windows.

Both awning and casement windows operate with a crank and swing outward. Awning windows are wider than they are tall while casement windows are taller than they are wide. Awning windows have a hinge at the top of the window so it opens outward vertically. A casement window has a hinge on the side and opens outward horizontally. Examine casement vs. awning windows to find the right fit for your home.

Both casement and awning windows can provide more uninterrupted views because they don’t have a check rail in the middle of the frame, like a single-hung and double-hung windows, or a slider window. They also provide excellent ventilation and can allow stagnant air to exit while inviting cool air in.

Our awning windows feature a multi-point locking system to securely keep your windows close while protecting your home from unwanted air and water infiltration.

Awning windows can fit into hard-to-reach spaces because the crank extends out, making it easier to open and close windows. They can also get installed above doors or larger windows to improve ventilation, add natural light, and provide bigger views.

Awning windows also have the benefit of opening outward from a top hinge to allow a breeze in, and because they open from the bottom it may be possible to keep them open in wet weather to allow that fresh smell of rain to waft into your home.

Awning windows make an excellent choice for adding ventilation to a home. Many homes feature a bathroom awning window for ventilation. They have the versatility of pairing with other windows and fitting into hard-to-reach places. Awning windows also work well in higher places on walls to help with ventilation.

Awning windows open with a crank handle that you turn to push the window open outward with scissor hardware. When opened, it creates an awning-like opening so you can keep a window open during a light rain.

Awning window costs vary based on the size of the window and options you select. A local Infinity expert can provide you a detailed quote.
